Kaelyn Sexton, RN, MSN, CNM Certified Nurse Midwife Kaelyn received her initial Bachelor Degree at UNC Chapel Hill, but after attending a nursing conference at Duke she was inspired to start her journey to become a midwife. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Duke University and shortly after began working as a labor and delivery nurse while studying midwifery. She graduated from Frontier University with her Masters of Science in Nursing (CNM), Nurse Midwifery. She is licensed as an Advanced Practice Nurse through NC Board of Nursing and as a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) through the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB). She also holds a national certification in Electronic Fetal Monitoring. Kaelyn believes in affirming the natural strength of women to empower them to become partners in their own care. She practices patient centered care with the goal of creating positive birth experiences that women can cherish for a lifetime. Kaelyn is also very passionate about the application of research to provide exemplary patient care; she is currently working towards her Doctorate of Nursing Practice at Frontier University. In her free time, Kaelyn loves spending time with friends and family. During the summer months, you can find her exploring scenic trails along the Blue Ridge Mountains. In the winter, Kaelyn is an avid snow skier. She also enjoys spending time snuggling with her two fur babies, Lady and Rambo, curled up reading science fiction novels.
