Alexcia Pennell, MSN, CNM Certified Nurse Midwife Alexcia became passionate about women’s health after she had her first child. She worked as a Labor and Delivery nurse for 10 years before completing her midwifery training. Alexcia believes that education, support, and shared decision making are important aspects of women's health care and encourages women to actively participate in their care. She hopes that empowering women to become their own best advocates will create experiences that are not overshadowed by fear of the unknown and anxiety. While not at work, Alexcia enjoys spending time with her husband and children. They enjoy traveling to historic cities and Disney World and playing video games. She also enjoys talking her husband into new home improvement projects. Alexcia graduated with honors from Wilkes Community College with an Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) in 2005 and from Frontier Nursing University with a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) in 2014.
