It’s called laparoscopic supracervical hysterectomy Laparoscopic Supracervical Hysterectomy, or LSH. It’s an innovative procedure that could get you back to most of your routine in less than a week – much quicker than the month or more you’d need after a traditional hysterectomy. Catawba Women’s Center is proud to be the first practice in our region to offer patients the option of hysterectomy or myomectomy using the da Vinci® Robot Surgical System. This revolutionary surgical system relies on robotic technology. Using a small video camera and surgical equipment maneuvered through tiny incisions, surgeons perform a virtual operation on the 3-D image of a patient’s uterus. And every move the surgeon makes is precisely duplicated by the robotic surgical device. Imagine major surgery performed through the smallest of incisions, a shorter hospital stay, and a faster return to normal daily activities.
