James W. Wotring, MD
Gynecology
A native of West Virginia, he graduated from the Medical College
of Virginia in 1961 and stayed to complete his residency in
1965. Dr. Wotring served in the Air Force for 2 years, then came
to Hickory in 1968 to begin private practice. He was one of the
founding partners of Catawba Women’s Center which opened in
1972. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics
and Gynecology, a Fellow of the
American College
of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), and a Fellow of
the American College of Surgeons. He is married to Vivian and
they have two children, a daughter, Alison, and a son, Jay.
Having been surrounded by women most of his life, he cherishes
his five granddaughters!
