Margaret A. Marsden, RNC, CNM, IBCLC
Certified Nurse Midwife
A native of New York, Margaret’s first degree is from Duke
University where she majored in French Language and Literature.
Margaret later discovered the call to midwifery and completed
her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UNC Chapel Hill. In
1994, she graduated from the Nurse Midwifery program at Oregon
Health Sciences University with a Masters in Nursing. She is
certified by the American College of Nursing and the NC Board of
Medical Examiners and joined Catawba Women’s Center in 2005. A
passionate advocate for breastfeeding, Margaret is also a
Certified Lactation Consultant. When not working, she and her
husband stay quite busy with their three children and their
school activities. The Marsden’s also share their home with two
dogs, a cat, and two ferrets. She enjoys agility training with
Bree, her Australian Shepherd. Margaret delights in sharing her
passions for women’s health and midwifery by speaking to school
and civic groups and has also volunteered for the Pregnancy Care
Center of Hickory.
